For the academic year 2017 - 2018 we are very excited to be taking part in the Commando Joe programme.
Delivering a programme of character-building, team-building and leadership development activities across the school, Commando Joe will complement the school's work on Habits of Mind and towards the Sainsbury's School Games Mark.
Commando Joes do not put a military ethos into schools, they work with children to help them realise their potential. Their passion is to inspire young people with positive role models and give a young person confidence, ambition and self-worth.
Every Tuesday, our commando Stu will be joining us in school working with children across the school over the course of the year.
Before school - Stu will be joining the GOOSE team.
Mornings - Stu will work alongside our EYFS children in the outdoors supporting challenges to develop skills across the Prime Areas of the curriculum,
Lunchtime - Stu will be leading the Junior Joes scheme to develop children's leadership skills.
Afternoon - Stu will work with two year groups each half term delivering problem-solving sessions as part of our P.E. curriculum. This will also provide excellent training for our staff.
After school - Stu will lead after-school club which will consist of various tasks, challenges, activities, sports and exercise. More info on the Clubs page.
We've had a bit of a shaky start to the year but we are now back on track and Stu will start properly in January 2018. Watch this space for further info as the work develops.
