Greenmount -
a Pathway to Success
We continued our exploration of inspirational people and focused on artist
Frida Kahlo de Riviera who was from Mexico and known for her many portraits,
self portraits and works inspired by the nature and artifacts of Mexico.
Frida is a great example of one of habits of mind “persisting”. When she was at
school, she became ill which resulted in her becoming very thin. But she didn’t
mind being different ! A little later, the bus Frida was riding crashed into a car
and life as she knew it changed for ever ! Whilst she was recovering, she started
to draw and paint. This became therapeutic for her and began to show her
painting to the public. She became famous after her death.
