Good Morning Year 1!

Here are your activities for today …

Phonics

Daily recap of ‘phonics flashcards speed trial’ and ‘tricky word trucks’ on the Phonics Play website.

Play game of your choice off Phonics Play (Phase 5)

Practice writing each common exception word 3 times and then put it into a sentence. Your 4 common exception words for today are: do, he, ask, friend.

Read a book – this can either be a book you have at home or from one of the websites previously suggested.

It's Friday again so that means it's reading and comprehension using our VIPERS skills

 

V is for vocabulary - exploring words.

I is for inference - using the clues in the text to work out the answer.

P is for prediction - what do you think is going to happen.

E is for explanation - why do you think something has happened or what does it mean.

R is for retrieval - go and find the answers in the text.

S is for sequencing - putting the text in order.
