Good morning Year 6
I hope you all had a good day yesterday and that you found it fairly easy to calculate the area of a parallelogram.
Here we go for Friday 12th June:
1 Today I want you to look at page 100 of the TYM sheets. Use what you have already learnt from doing the Classroom Secrets work this week to tackle the section(s) based on the area of triangles and parallelograms. Remember to look at the examples on the page but don’t freak – they just look complicated!
2 I have put two tasks on MyMaths based on the maths work we have been doing this week. I have been impressed with your scores for the work that you have been doing over the last few months.
3 Now you are going to be creative again. I want you to produce a silhouette based on the war. I have ‘attached’ a sheet with some examples. You will need to do the background first before producing the black image for the foreground. If you haven’t got any black paper at home, draw your image on white paper and colour it black so that you can cut it out. Once again, I would love it if you could post your pictures on Portfolio.
4 To round off your morning’s work put your feet up and, have a good read of the next edition of the First News newspaper that is on the Year 6 page of home learning. There are two parts to this edition of the newspaper. You might find the first part interesting, particularly those of you who are going to be back in school next week.
I am really looking forward to seeing you next week. For those of you who aren’t going to be in school please stay in contact with me by posting pictures etc on Portfolio. I will continue to put work on the website for home learning but some of it might be a little different to what you have been doing.
Have a lovely weekend and stay safe.
