Hi Year 3,
Wow! Where has this week gone? It only seems two minutes since I was planning your work for last Monday. Time flies when you are having fun.......hopefully you are managing to do this at home, as well as working hard on your tasks. I've had quite a few messages from you, saying how you are missing your friends. Hang in there. As I've said loads, this situation will not last forever!
Today's tasks are as follows-
Today we are going to finish off this week's work on coordinating conjunctions, which you started on Monday. This is a perfect opportunity to see hat you have remembered about this work. Remember a coordinating conjunction can join two sentences, parts of a sentence and words together, for example and, but, so, nor and yet. I have attached a PowerPoint as a reminder.
* Today we are going to have a go at comparing the duration of time. You may find it useful to have an analogue clock to help you. For example 8.40 until 9.05 would be a duration of 25 minutes and I would work this out by using (or imagining) having 8.40 on my clock and then count around to 9.05 in my multiples of 5, just like we looked at in class. Give it a go. I would encourage everybody to start with the first sheet and see how far you can get. I was impressed with how well you did this in school, however it is not easy, so try your best!
Don't forget to keep your times tables ticking over and take plenty of breaks, get some exercise and if you are able to, some fresh air in your back garden. Also, if you have time, take a look at the World War Two questions which I have been giving you, as this will be useful for your project next week.
Take care and I will see you all soon.
