Morning Year 6
I hope you enjoyed your writing task yesterday and you managed to produce a piece of writing that I would have been ‘wowed’ by!
There is more of a mix bag for today’s work so here we go for Friday 1st May:
1 Begin the day by doing our ‘big’ times tables test using the website: www.timestables.co.uk › speed-test. Remember to keep a note of your scores and the time each test takes you.
2 I would like you to look at the Classroom Secrets sheets (VF) and start at either 1a/4a/7a depending upon your confidence level.
3 Look at the example on page 152 of the TYM sheets then complete the section that you feel will challenge you.
4 Read Chapter 8 of Listen To The Moon, adding to your story board and making note of any thoughts that spring to mind.
5 To round off your morning’s work put your feet up and, if you haven’t already done so, have a good read of the First News newspaper that is on the Year 6 page of home learning. There are a lot of articles about the current situation that we are all in and there are reports and comments from children your age. I really liked reading it.
I know the weather hasn’t been the greatest this week but remember a little bit of rain doesn’t do you any harm (unless you are called Mrs Kenyon who is concerned about her hair!) so still try to get some fresh air over the weekend.
I am missing you all - I promise I am not being sarcastic! It would be good to have you all back in school but we all know that we can only do that when it is safe to do so.
Stay safe and I will ‘see’ you next week.
