Hi Year 3,
Well, that is another half-term completed! Where has the time gone? It appears to be flying by!
Since school closed in March, I have continued to be proud of every single one of you, with some amazing work going on. Keep this up, as it doesn't go unnoticed.
Next week is half-term, so I won't be setting you any work to do, as we would usually be at home anyway. I will be in school next week, so I hope to see some of you if you are in!
* Today we are going to complete our work on prefixes, which we started on Tuesday. This time, you are going to be applying your knowledge (remember a prefix goes at the start of a root word, to create a new word with a different meaning). Read the questions carefully and if you are feeling confident, start with the second sheet.
* We are finishing our work on equivalent fractions today. Remember, equivalent fractions are two or more fractions which look different, but are actually the same amount. I have attached the PowerPoint again to help you, should you need this. I would start with the first sheet again today, as the work today can get quite challenging and you will need to explain your answers. Remember, you may need to use your knowledge of multiplication and division to find fractions which are equivalent .
Don't forget to keep your 2,3,4,5,8 and 10 times tables ticking over and also make sure that you are able to show the inverse operation to each fact, for example 4 x 8=32, so 32 divided by 8 is 4. Also, some of you are now very confident with all of the times tables we have looked at, so if you feel that you are, I would like you to begin to learn your 6, 7 and 9 times tables. More importantly, make sure that next week you get a good break and hopefully you will be able to get out and about, within the social distancing rules!
Take care and keep safe.
See you all soon!
