Hi Year 3,
Thank you for some of the lovely messages which I have received this week on Class Dojo, showing the work that you have been doing at home. Keep sending these as I enjoy seeing what you have been doing!
* Today we are going to finish off the SPaG work which we started on Tuesday all about sequencing sentences. You may need to replace sentences with your own sentence which means the same thing, or explain why a sentence is correct or not, using your knowledge of the work from earlier in the week. I have again attached a PowerPoint which may help you.
* We are moving on to looking at subtracting money. Like with our work on adding money, the sheet suggests strategies which you could use to calculate the answers, however you may decide to use your own strategy from the ones looked at in class if you wish. The attached PowerPoint may help you.
Don't forget to keep your 2,3,4,5,8 and 10 times tables ticking over and also make sure that you are able to show the inverse operation to each fact, for example 4 x 8=32, so 32 divided by 8 is 4. Also, some of you are now very confident with all of the times tables we have looked at, so if you feel that you are, I would like you to begin to learn your 6, 7 and 9 times tables.
You may also want to look at a BBC Bitesize maths game called, "Guardians: Defenders of Mathematica". This game is set in a make believe world which you navigate by using either mental or written maths in different topic areas.
I hope you all have a lovely weekend and manage to get some exercise and time outdoors with your family.
Bye for now.
