Good Morning Year 2.
Here are your activities for today …
Over the next few days we are going to do some revision. Today, you are thinking about words that have the phoneme ee and the alternative spellings.
Go on a word hunt and complete the sheet investigating the different spellings of the ee phoneme. You could look in books, newspapers, magazines for words containing these phonemes.
Have a happy weekend!
Today I would like you to write your own shape poem using your ideas and outline that you created yesterday. Remember to post your work on your dojo portfolio!
Beat That Quiz.
I hope yesterday’s activity went well and that it served as a good reminder for the work that you have already done.
Today you are going to take it a step further and use your multiplication knowledge to help you solve divisions.
For the sum 15 ÷ 5 – think about how many times 5 goes into 15 5, 10, 15. There are 3 lots of 5 in 15 so therefore 15 ÷ 5 = 3.
10 ÷ 2 – How many times does 2 go into 10? – 2, 4, 6, 8, 10 – There are 5 lots of 2 in 10 so therefore 10 ÷ 2 = 5
Remember you can always rely on your jotting method if you get stuck but being able to calculate division sums mentally will be very useful.
Today, you have quite a straightforward worksheet. Using the mental method explained above, complete the division sums. If you are struggling working these out mentally, continue using your jottings from yesterday.
