Hello Year 3,
I hope that everybody is well. Yet again, we are at the end of another week. I can't believe that this is the 12th week of our home learning!
* Today we are finishing off our work on prepositions. A preposition is a word which tells you where something is in relation to something else or when something happens. Examples of prepositions are after, before, on, under, inside and outside. A preposition usually comes before a noun, for example, "We walked up (preposition) the stairs (noun)". I have attached a PowerPoint to help. I would like you to use your knowledge of the work that you carried out on Tuesday to help you answer the questions. Remember, you may need to explain some of your answers!
* Today is some more mental maths work. I would choose one of the sheets and start with the red column, seeing how far you can get. Remember, this is mental maths, so you should try to calculate the answer in your head, rather than writing your working out
Don't forget to keep your 2,3,4,5,8 and 10 times tables ticking over and also make sure that you are able to show the inverse operation to each fact, for example 4 x 8=32, so 32 divided by 8 is 4. Also, some of you are now very confident with all of the times tables we have looked at, so if you feel that you are, I would like you to begin to learn your 6, 7 and 9 times tables.
I hope that you all have a lovely weekend (hopefully the weather will be better than it has been during the week!!).
