Greenmount -

a Pathway to Success

Hockey Tournament

Our first hockey competition of the year was at Woodhey.  We set off, 6 of us in total as the rules of the game only allow 4 on the pitch at one time.

The first game we played was difficult and unfortunately we lost 2-0 however we were beginning to start to play as a team.

The second match was much better. We all played really good attacking hockey and won the match 7-0.

Due to the success of the last game, we were now confident and went into the third game hoping for another win. It was another success, Greenmount won again 7-1.

In the 4th Match we played we once again played well. Despite playing really well and having lots of opportunities to score we couldn’t get that vital goal and ended up losing the game, 2-1.

The final match had arrived and we were still hopeful of going through into the semi-finals. This was the closes game of the whole competition so far with the game finishing as a very close 2-2 draw.

Overall, we were one goal away from getting into the semi-finals! We were incredibly proud of ourselves for the way we played as a team at our very first hockey competition.
