Good morning Year 6
I hope you all had a nice weekend. Thank you so much to those of you who sent me their auditions – I was very impressed with them all. I don’t mind if other people want to send me theirs during the next week.
Right here we go with our work for another week:
Monday 18th May
1 Begin the day by doing our ‘big’ times tables test using the website: www.timestables.co.uk › speed-test. Remember to keep a note of your scores and the time each test takes you.
2 Before we went into lockdown it became apparent that as a class you were unsure about the mathematical terms – mode, median and range. We have done a lot of work over the past couple of weeks on Mean using the TYM sheets. Unfortunately, there isn’t anything in the Year 6 TYM book on these words so I have put together a PowerPoint and some practise sheets. Today we are going to focus on Mode. I want you to look at the PowerPoint as a presentation, not just the slides, because I want you to do the questions as you work through it. I have attached 20 sheets of questions! DON’T PANIC – it’s not as bad as it seems. After each set of 15 questions there is the answer sheet. It really shouldn’t take you long to work out the mode in each question so some of you will be able to romp through these. You do not have to do all of the 10 sheets – they are just there for you to practise if you need to!
3 Read Chapters 10 and 11 of Listen To The Moon, adding to your story board and making note of any thoughts that spring to mind.
Take care of yourselves and I will ‘see’ you tomorrow.
