Good Morning Year 2!
Hope you all had a lovely weekend and are ready to get stuck in to your home learning again.
Here are your activities for today …
Complete ‘phonics flashcards speed trial’ and ‘tricky word trucks’ on the Phonics Play website. Play ‘Magical Matching’ in the Phase 6 section.
We have made our way through ALL of the Year 2 common exception words. Today we would like you to do a spelling test. Rather than us setting a certain list of spellings for you to be tested on, it would be more beneficial for you to look back through your spelling work, see which ones you initially struggled with and then be tested on those words. If you have done well with them all, choose a random selection to be tested on.
You have 2 activities for English today …
Just before we finished school we had started to look at speech marks. Speech marks are generally covered in year 3, however many of you were naturally trying to include them in your writing. So it seems a natural progression for us to show you how to use them correctly. Remember it is just the words/sentence that has actually been said that goes inside the speech marks.
As the first activity probably won’t take you a full hour, we have attached a reading comprehension for you to complete too. Remember to read the text before trying to answer the questions.

Hope the missing number problems went well on Friday. Today you will be continuing to focus on missing number sums but where the missing number is in a subtraction sum. Please see the attached document giving an explanation of how to approach this with your child then complete the provided worksheet.
