Good morning Year 3,
I hope that you all have had a lovely weekend.
If we were in school this week, we would have been doing work all about World War 2 and how this affected the lives of people living in the United Kingdom. This Friday marks the 75th anniversary of the end of World War 2 in Europe, which was known as VE Day (Victory in Europe Day). This week I am going to ask you to complete a special project on World War 2. I have explained this in more detail on the attached sheets, but I would like you to be as imaginative as possible. There is no right or wrong way to do this, so think outside the box. You may produce a video or audio clip or you may want to complete some art work or a PowerPoint. The choice is yours. Just remember to focus in on one or two of the questions which I gave you last week (and have attached again), it will be difficult and time consuming to try to do some work which answers all of them!
I have also sent your parents the log in details for your portfolio on Class Dojo. This is to allow you to share your World War Two projects with me once you have completed them. This could simply be a photograph of what you have done!
* Following on from our work on the duration of time on Friday, I would like you to have another go with this, focusing in on problem solving. Remember, you may find it useful to have an analogue clock to help you and remember to count in multiples of 5.
* I will not be setting you any English work this week, as I would like you to focus on the World War Two activity.
As Friday is a Bank Holiday, I will not be giving you any work to do, as we wouldn't usually be in school.
Good luck with your projects and hopefully if we are back in school before the summer, we will be able to share these as a class.
Bye for now!
