I am in my third term of office as a Parent Governor at Greenmount with my youngest child now in Year 5. I have been involved in the recruitment of many members of staff, including interviewing the current Head Teacher. I have put forward projects such as the boiler replacement, energy efficient lighting and insulation. As Vice Chair and Chair of the Pupils and Curriculum Committee I work closely with the Head Teacher and staff to help develop a broad and balanced curriculum, ensuring it complies with national curricula, carries rigour but also enjoyment and celebrates achievement I have attended a number of governor training courses to ensure that I am up to date with current ideas and best practice.
Away from Greenmount Primary School I am Head of Science in a Secondary School. As part of my previous career I worked in the speciality chemical industry and the paper industry, including Production Manager of a local paper mill.
