Relationships Education Consultation

From the Summer term 2021, Primary Schools are required to teach Relationships Education.

The government has produced guidelines on what should be contained within the school's curriculum for Relationships Education.

At Greenmount Primary School, since 2012, we have been following the PSHE Association's curriculum which includes all of the statutory objectives from the new statutory curriculum for Relationships Education.  Therefore, this isn't new for us and we have been teaching your children these objectives for many years.

However, schools are required to consult with parents on their policy for Relationships Education and on the introduction of the statutory curriculum.

Our school's draft policy for PSHE (Personal, Social, Health and Economic Education) and Relationships Education is published below.  This has been discussed in detail by the Pupils and Curriculum Committee of the Governing Body.  It is due to be ratified by the Full Governing Body on Monday, 8th February.

Should you have any comments about the policy or curriculum, please complete the contact box below before Sunday, 7th February.
