a Pathway to Success

Tegla Laroupe

Tegla Loroupe - a  famous marathon runner from Kenya.

Even though others didn’t think she could ever enter a proper race, she believed in herself and went on to be the first

African woman to win the New York Marathon.

Her running career began at a young age when she ran 6 miles to school everyday, to make sure she got there on time !

Winning marathons earned Tegla some large amounts of money which she used to help others by establishing

schools in Kenya as well as many other peace projects.

A truly inspirational lady who embodies the Habit of Mind of “persisting”, keeping  going and sticking at it evenwhen it gets tough and others don’t believe you can do it !
