Greenmount -

a Pathway to Success

Thursday, 26th March

Good morning Year 3,

I hope that everybody is well and that you are slowly getting used to this new way of learning!  I know that it is difficult to get used to, but over the next few days you will get into the swing of things.  I know, I have struggled to get used to a new way of working!

Today's tasks are as follows-

I have sent you some images.  I would like you to choose one of these and write a description of the setting.  Think back to the work that we did on this in autumn and start of by writing a noun phrase for each of the senses (sight, sound, smell, touch and taste- taste may not be necessary).  Then I would like you to use these to write a description, as if you were approaching what is in the picture.  Don't forget full-stops, capital letters, adverbials, commas in lists and see if you can add a subordinating conjunction.
From next week, I have planned some writing on Stig of the Dump.

  *   I have sent you some maths work on 3D shape.  Although we didn't get up to this, you will be able to use your knowledge from Year 2 to help you with the properties of these shapes.

Most of these tasks should take around an hour, but you don't need to do them all in one go.  Have regular breaks and get some exercise!  Also, don't forget to go over your times tables (2, 3, 4, 5, 8 and 10 times).  Some of you are even working on your 6 and 7 times tables, and some of the apps which I know a lot of you have got, can help with this.

Keep on working hard and I will see you all soon.

Mr G out!
