Hi Year 3,
I hope that we are all well and keeping safe. Thank you for continuing to share your work on Class Dojo. It is great to see what some of you are doing.
* Today is our writing day. I have had quite a few children asking about the Romans. Don't worry, we will be studying the Romans when we are in Year 4. However, for the writing for the rest of Year 3, we are going to do some background work on this period in history. Today, I would like you to find out about the legend of Romulus and Remus. You can either do some of your own reserach or use the sheet which I have given you. From the information which you find out, I would like you to rewrite this legend as a comic strip. Again, you could design or own comic strip, or use the sheet which I have given you. Remember, you don't need to include too much writing, just short, snappy sentences, explaining what is happening in your comic pictures.
* We are going to finish off looking at giving change. For example, if I had bought some things which cost £3.25 and paid with a £5.00 note, I would work out the change by doing £5.00 - £3.25= £1.75 change. Remember, you can use any strategy which we have looked at to help you calculate the answer, not just a number line. If you are confident with this now, please start with the second sheet.
* Mrs Rowland has placed some practical science investigations on the school website for you to have a go at.
Don't forget to keep your 2,3,4,5,8 and 10 times tables ticking over and also make sure that you are able to show the inverse operation to each fact, for example 4 x 8=32, so 32 divided by 8 is 4. Also, some of you are now very confident with all of the times tables we have looked at, so if you feel that you are, I would like you to begin to learn your 6, 7 and 9 times tables.
I will see you all soon.
