Hello Year 3,
I hope that you are all ok and continuing to keep safe.
* Today for our SPaG work, I would like you to complete the attached sheet on prepositions, something which we started to look at before school closed. A preposition is a word which tells you where something is in relation to something else or when something happens. Examples of prepositions are after, before, on, under, inside and outside. A preposition usually comes before a noun, for example, "We walked up (preposition) the stairs (noun)". I have attached a PowerPoint to help refresh your memory of this. If you feel confident, please start with sheet 2.
* We are moving on to looking at giving change. Again, you will have looked at this. For example, if I had bought some things which cost £3.25 and paid with a £5.00 note, I would work out the change by doing £5.00 - £3.25= £1.75 change. Some questions on the sheet will show you how a number line can be useful in finding change. However, if you wish, you can also use some of the other strategies which we have looked at to help you. Today, I would start with the first sheet and I have given you a PowerPoint to help introduce this.
Don't forget to keep your 2,3,4,5,8 and 10 times tables ticking over and also make sure that you are able to show the inverse operation to each fact, for example 4 x 8=32, so 32 divided by 8 is 4. Also, some of you are now very confident with all of the times tables we have looked at, so if you feel that you are, I would like you to begin to learn your 6, 7 and 9 times tables.
Take care and keep safe!
