Greenmount -

a Pathway to Success

Tuesday, 30th June

Good morning Reception,

Reading: Please go through your reading packs.

Phonic recap:  Please go through your phoneme flashcards.   You could play phoneme splat today-put your phonemes out on the floor, when your grown-up shouts out a sound, splat it!

Spelling:  How are you getting on with your spellings?  Don’t worry if you are not remembering them just yet, try a different spelling activity and keep practising.

Activity for everybody:   Today I would like you to list some things that you enjoy in school and somethings that you might not enjoy so much, then make a list of things that you enjoy doing outside of school.  Don’t worry about writing in sentences, just a list will do today.  We will use these lists tomorrow.  You can use the attached sheet if you need to.

Number

Mrs Balmer’s/Miss Hathaway’s: Please pick one to work on this week as a starter activity:

  • Numbers to 20 recognition
  • Ordering your numbers to 20
  • Count back from 20-0
  • Say 1more than a number within 20
  • Say 1 less than a number within 20
  • Choose 3 random numbers within 20-can you order these from smallest to biggest?
  • Choose 3 random numbers within 20-can you order these from biggest to smallest?

How did your taking away go yesterday, did you remember what to do?  I have attached a take-away sheet for you to work through to practise taking away by counting back within 15.  Counting back from 13 can be tricky so be careful.

Alternative activities if you don’t feel ready to move onto subtracting numbers to 20:

I have attached a take-away sheet for you to practise-please get out 20 objects in a bowl for you to count with, remember to count out the objects carefully for the first number, putting them in a line.

Mrs Carr’s/Mrs Brennan’s:

First choose one of the skills from last week to practise:

  • Count in 1’s to 100
  • count back in 1’s from 100-0
  • count in 2’s to 100
  • count in 5’s to 100
  • count back in 5’s from 100-0
  • Count in 10’s to 100
  • Count back in 10’s from 100-0

How did your taking away go yesterday?  Just like the other group I have attached a take-away sheet for you to work through to practise taking away by counting back within 30.  Counting back over the 20 mark can be tricky, so be careful.

Take care, Mrs Balmer
