Hi Year 6
I hope you got on okay with yesterday’s work.
Here is the work for Tuesday 9th June:
1 We are going to continue with the area of a triangle, once again using the Classroom Secrets resources. This is a little harder than yesterday’s work. Please remember than when you are given the formula for calculating the area of a triangle it looks more complicated than it actually is.
You are given Area = base x height
All this means is that you multiply the length of the base by the length of the height and divide the answer by 2 (or halve it!).
Start off by looking at the PowerPoint.
2 I then want you to do the Classroom Secrets sheets (VF) and start at either 1a/4a/7a depending upon your confidence level.
3 Next, complete the Problem Solving and Reasoning pages from Classroom Secrets. Depending upon your confidence level start at either question 1a or 4a and do two complete ‘pages’ for each of the tasks. If you start at 1a you will do all the questions up to, and including, 6b. If you start at 4a you will do up to 9b.
4 Our next task is to complete a comprehension exercise (and some grammar work) based on the centenary (2016) of The Battle Of The Somme.
Have a great day and stay safe!
