Greenmount -

a Pathway to Success

Wednesday, 6th May

Hi Everybody!

It has been absolutely lovely to see more people posting pictures on their Dojo portfolios – seeing all of these pictures makes us miss you even more! We are so glad to see that you are working hard and seem to be enjoying the activities based around VE day.

Here are your activities for today …

Phonics

Today you will be continuing learning about homophones. We would like you to look at: where, were, wear. Discuss with an adult the different meanings. Practice spelling each word and write it in a sentence.

English

Today we would like you to do a comparison between homes in the 1940’s (wartime) and your home now. Please see the link below which takes you to a website full of videos about what each room in the house was like in the 1940s. Once you have watched the videos think about how they are different to our homes now. You could either just have this as a discussion activity or present your comparisons in whatever way you would like.

Maths

Today we have set you a slightly shorter maths activity as the comparison activity above might take quite a bit of time to complete so we don’t want to overload you with activities. Please see that attached worksheet (answer sheet provided too).

VE Day Activity

Again a choice of 2 activities for today:

Activity 1 – Research what an Anderson Shelter is. Create a model Anderson Shelter – Please see the link below for ideas.

Activity 2 – Union Jack colouring sheet (document attached).

Have fun!

Miss C and Mrs P.
