GOOSE is not intended to be an extension of the school's curriculum provision and, therefore, the emphasis is on a range of fully supervised indoor and outdoor leisure and recreation activities.
There are opportunities for art and crafts, games and sport, together with table top toys, role play activities, construction toys and jigsaws. We also have a small library, computers and video games, large-screen TV and make extensive use of the outdoor areas.
A healthy snack is provided at every afternoon session.
Toast, cereal and a drink are available each morning for breakfast. Breakfast is served until 8.30 a.m.
Water and fruit are always available.
Food and Snacks
We adhere to the DfE's regulations for serving food which are outlined in the document "School food standards practical guide"
Every type of food that we serve and the frequency that we serve it meets the demands of these regulations. We also take into account individual children's culture and food allergies. Information about which allergens are in the foods that we serve is available from members of staff.
Water and fruit are available at all times in GOOSE.
There are also National and International Celebration Days which we might observe with different foods, please ask for details.
(The SURPRISE! on Fridays is usually leftover snacks from the week, or toast.)
