Autumn Term Frist Half
During this topic, leading on from their work in Reception, the children will explore and name different body parts and their function, including the senses. They will explore what the human lifecycle, what the human body needs to function and how we can look after our bodies.
The children will learn their own address and find out about the area we live/go to school in, drawing simple maps to show their route to school. They will learn name of the village, our nearest large town and city. This links to the Geography work in Year 3 when the children develop their mapping skills and their knowledge of the United Kingdom.
The children will explore the history of their own lives, their parents and grandparents as well as exploring what schools were like in the 1970s.
