Proud to be part of

The Keep Learning Trust

The impact of our funding (including swimming data)

We were allocated £18,040

We spent £18,670

£14,250 was spent on part-funding our Sports Coach who has (during the hours funded by the Sports Premium):

* Provided extra-curricular clubs (4 x after school and 4 x lunchtime) in a wide variety of sports/activities across the school;

* enabled school to participate in a wide range of sporting competitions across Bury in football, netball, tag rugby, rounders, athletics, basketball

* Provided a daily “Sensory Circuits” intervention 4 days per week, at the beginning of the day, for our SEN children who need additional sensory regulation

* Taught P.E. alongside school staff to ensure smaller numbers (for Reception) and to provide CPD for staff new to the school

* Introduced Orienteering into English and Maths lessons and provided CPD for class teachers

Impact:

* Activity levels at lunchtimes continue to increase with a larger group of children engaging in sporting activities.  This has also been provided during indoor breaks using activities such as table tennis.

* Attendance at after-school clubs continues to be high - averaging around 90 children per week

* Greenmount Primary School has entered (and won) an increased number of sporting competitions this academic year in a wider variety of sports

* Children with sensory needs are able to access their learning more effectively after a sensory circuits session.

* Children across KS2 have increased their skills in orienteering and benefitted from active learning in English and Maths lessons

* Class teachers have received bespoke CPD to support them in implementing orienteering in English and Maths lessons

Sustainability

During 2024-2025 we will continue to employ our Sports Coach but only part of his role will be funded by Sports Premium.  The funding will enable him to:

*  provide additional after-school clubs in a wider variety of sports

* enable children to take part in a wide range of sporting competitions

* support staff in embedding orienteering as active learning in English and Maths lessons

An HLTA is being employed (with the sports premium) to continue to provide:

* sensory circuits 5 days a week

* activity sessions for infant children at lunchtimes (supported by Y6 sport ambassadors)

£1,550 was spent on increasing opportunities for children to take part in sporting competitions (for detail see Sports Coach role above).

This amount is made up of:

* £575 to join Bury School Games which enables us to have priority entry to Bury-wide competitions.

* £175 for additional kits for sports teams

* £800 for supply cover to release our Sports Coach and other staff to accompany children to competitions

Impact:

 * Greenmount Primary School has entered (and won) an increased number of sporting competitions this academic year in a wider variety of sports

Sustainability:

During 2024 - 2025 we intend to use the Sports Premium again to facilitate children to take part in a wide variety of competitions.

£420 was spent on taking our Y5/Y6 cohorts to the local tennis club one afternoon per week to receive training in tennis, benefitting from their extensive facilities.

Impact:

The children were able to make better progress than they would have made in school due to the increased level of coaching (there were three coaches for each lesson) and the number of courts available meaning that children were able to develop and practice their newly acquired skills with appropriate facilities.

Sustainability:

We plan to use part of the 2024-2025 premium to repeat these training sessions.

£1,000 was spent on providing additional swimming lessons.  These were for children in Y5/Y6 who had not reached the end of KS2 standards when they were taught swimming as part of the curriculum in Y4.

Impact:

8 of the 13 children who received the additional lessons were able to swim competently, confidently and proficiently over a distance of at least 25m.  6 of these children achieved all of the end of KS2 standards for swimming.

 % of Y6 children achieving
Can swim competently, confidently and proficiently over a distance of at least 25 metres 97%
Can use a range of strokes effectively 94%
Can perform safe self-rescue in different water-based situations 94%

Sustainability:

We plan to use part of the 2024-2025 premium to continue with these top-up sessions.

£650 was spent on resourcing the school's new orienteering course.

Impact:

The course is now fully complete and resourced so that it can be used by class teachers and the Sports Coach from September 2024.

Sustainability:

£400 will be used from future Sports Premium to ensure we can access the website where all of the English and Maths lessons are made available.

£800 was spent to ensure we have sufficient resources to enable the children to be active at breaktimes, lunchtimes and for sensory activities.

Impact:

The school is well resourced to enable the children to be active during structured and unstructured activities at breaktimes/lunchtimes and for sensory circuits.  Children are able to build up the amount of time they are active per day.

Sustainability:

To enable our younger children to make best use out of the equipment and increase their activity levels, we intend to allocate some of our 2024-2025 premium on an HLTA to help structure activities at lunchtimes for the children.
